The Portland Children’s Levy (PCL) prepares children for school, supports their success in and out of the classroom, and works to eliminate racial and ethnic disparities in outcomes. Approved by voters in 2002, the Levy has been overwhelmingly renewed four times. Current funding runs through June 2029.
APANO is proud to receive PCL funding and will focus on early childhood support. Our planned efforts include:
Helping families understand child development and manage challenging behaviors.
Supporting children in identifying and expressing their emotions.
Assisting parents and caregivers of children with disabilities, neurodivergence, or developmental delays with parenting strategies and system navigation, including access to therapy services.
Providing community-based prenatal and postnatal maternal education.
APANO is proud to receive PCL funding to support early childhood development through family education, emotional learning for children, caregiver support for disabilities and developmental differences, and prenatal and postnatal maternal education.
