TriMet 82nd Avenue Transit Project
The 82nd Avenue Transit Project will bring high-capacity FX (Frequent Express) bus service to SE 82nd Avenue, connecting Clackamas Town Center to the Cully neighborhood and improving travel times, reliability, and access to jobs, schools, healthcare, and other essential destinations. As a workforce and contractor development partner, APANO is helping ensure that the economic opportunities created by this major infrastructure investment reach the communities along the corridor. Through our 82nd Avenue Community Workforce Training Program, APANO connects community members—particularly those who have historically faced barriers to employment—with pre-apprenticeship training, construction career pathways, and opportunities to enter the skilled trades. By combining workforce development with community engagement, APANO is working to ensure that the benefits of the 82nd Avenue investment extend beyond improved transportation to include good jobs, economic mobility, and long-term career opportunities for local residents.
Preschool for All
Workforce Development
APANO serves as a sponsor organization for the Workforce Development for Preschool for All initiative, helping strengthen the early childhood education workforce and expand access to quality early learning opportunities. Through this initiative, APANO supports early childhood educators as they progress through the Oregon Registry Step (STEP) system toward Step 7 and Step 8, providing guidance, resources, and culturally responsive training to help educators advance their careers and professional credentials. We also work to increase community awareness of Preschool for All and create more accessible pathways into the early childhood education field. By investing in the professional development of childcare providers and supporting culturally responsive education and training on early learning, child development, and other relevant topics, APANO is helping build a stronger, more diverse early childhood workforce that reflects and serves Oregon’s communities.
