APANO serves as a grantee and implementer of Oregon’s Healthy Homes Grant Program, a state initiative established by the 2021 Legislature through HB 2842 to support low-income households and communities impacted by environmental justice factors. Administered by the Oregon Health Authority(OHA), the program provides grants to eligible organizations like APANO to help homeowners and landlords address environmental and climate-related hazards in residential properties. Through this program, APANO helps low-income Portlanders make critical home repairs and upgrades that improve energy efficiency, indoor air quality, safety, and climate resilience—addressing issues such as mold, lead, radon, poor ventilation, extreme heat, and fall risk.
